The area around Denham’s Beach has a mild, temperate climate making it an ideal destination for a peaceful relaxing break. There are plenty of beautiful sandy beaches for you to choose from, including protected beaches with gentler waves for the children and serious breaks if you love surfing.

Whether it is a surfing beach, snorkelling paradise or a diving haven the surrounding area will have one for you.

If you like to surf (or would like to give it a go) there are accredited surf schools that provide wetsuits, as well as expert tuition.

Right on your doorstep, you have three beaches that you can explore without getting in your car.

Denham’s Beach

This is a surf beach that is popular with board riders and families, with direct access from your holiday home. It faces due east and curves slightly for 360m between the boundary rocks. The waves average about 1 metre and maintains a continuous low tide bar and is usually free of rips.

Surf Beach

This beach is popular with locals and visitors and has lots of grassy areas overlooking the beach, providing pleasant spots for general relaxation. The beach is patrolled in January.

Wimbie Beach

This beach has no waves, so is perfect for families and children.

If you want to explore further beaches, the following are a small number that you may look at.

Pebbly Beach

This beach, which is located 20 minutes from Batemans Bay, in a National Park, is  famous for its  ‘’surfing kangaroo’’, arising from a photograph of a kangaroo in the low surf, which was probably chased there by a dog.  You may share the beach with kangaroos, which small children may enjoy.

McKenzie Beach

Is a surf beach popular with riders and has a huge sea life waiting for you to explore- perfect for experienced snorkellers.

Broulee Beach

Popular for its surf and wide expanse of sandy beach.
