Seeing whales is a truly awe-inspiring experience, whether you are young of old. Whales are magnificent creatures and observing them in their natural habitat is a unique opportunity. November sees the last of the migration as they go down the South Coast, back to the Antarctica for another year.

During this period, humpback whales, in particular, are known to pass by the south coast, but other whale species such as right whales and minke whales may also be spotted during the migration season.

Popular locations for whale watching on the south coast of NSW include Jervis Bay, Merimbula, Eden, Kiama, and Batemans Bay. These areas offer scenic coastal views and are known for their whale-watching opportunities.

Many coastal headlands and lookouts along the south coast offer excellent vantage points for whale watching. Bring your binoculars to get a closer look or you might consider taking a whale watching tour.

Denhams Beach Retreat   www.denhamsbeachretreat.com.au has a small number of nights left for November for a booking.
